This pack includes, PowerPoint which can be adapted to any subject setting out expectations for organisation, a front of folder guide to How to Study, tips and Reminders and an editable front of folder Organisation Guide, including an index, guidance on how to use it and table for regular folder checks, as well as a Cornell Notes template sheet.
This PowerPoint presentation is an opportunity for students to expand their awareness of where studying Biology A level or related level 3 subject could lead them. The Teaching Notes include a link to duplicate a preliminary quiz on Forms to get students thinking and the presentation includes opportunities for discussion, but also optional videos to include and links to further reading as well as guidance on how to expand experience. We have another presentation on Working with Animals, so that is not touched on so much here, but the 2 presentations are available as a 2 pack as well as individually from our shop.

This series of 5 presentations follows on from /teaching-resource/bitesize-study-skills-12806253 our first set of Bitesize Study Skills presentations and builds on the techniques visited there, but works as a stand alone set of presentations too. We want our students to do their best and achieve their full potential, but how much time do we spend teaching them how to study and get the most from their lessons, note-taking and revision? This resource uses up to date research to help you to support your students to adopt the best strategies for study and revision.
This bundle gives insights into amazing contributions women have made and could be used to support Gatsby Benchmarks 3 and 4, Women’s History Month. It includes:
Women in Stem, which is a complete lesson and includes a preliminary quiz, which is then discussed as part of the lesson.
The Curie Women - the legacy of Marie Curie and her daughters
NASA Women - individual slides could be used as starters in Maths or Science lessons
Formidable Female Composers - this includes links to the music of the women mentioned and could work as a complete lesson or using individual slides and the relevant links as starters to inspire and support GB 3 and 4.
Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin - the breakthrough astronomer - this presentation could be used to support GB 3 and 4 in encouraging students to see the value in determination and what a woman can achieve despite the obstacles in her way
Sofonisba Anguissola - an introduction to a woman who made her own career in a time where court artists were predominantly men. This could support art and design with GB 3 and 4.
Hospitality and Tourism offer many possibilities and can be accessed from numerous academic backgrounds. This presentation introduces students to possibilities in these sectors, while looking at the LMI for the food and beverage industry. It begins with a quiz on Forms to gauge student interest and awareness (the link to duplicate is in the Teaching Notes). The presentation includes optional discussion points and videos, so can be adapted to fit your time allocation.
